Privacy Policy – CeeNaija App

Last updated: 7 October 2026

This policy explains what information the CeeNaija Android app (package com.ceenaija.ceeapp), published by Billiminds App ("we", "us"), collects, why, and the choices you have. You do not need an account to use the app, and we do not sell your personal information.

1. Information we collect

Anonymous usage statistics. The app sends simple, anonymous events to our own server, such as app opens, songs played and search terms, so we can see what is popular and improve the app. We do not store IP addresses or device identifiers with these statistics. Search terms that look like phone numbers are discarded.

Crash reports. We use Google Firebase Crashlytics to learn when and why the app crashes. A crash report includes technical details such as device model, Android version, app version, the error that occurred and a random installation identifier.

Push notifications. If you allow notifications, Google Firebase Cloud Messaging gives your device a token so we can send announcements such as new songs or the daily verse. You can turn notifications off at any time in the app or in your phone's settings.

App integrity checks. We use Google Firebase App Check and the Google Play Integrity API to confirm that requests come from the genuine CeeNaija app. Google processes device and app integrity signals for this purpose.

Advertising. The app may show ads from Google AdMob and other advertising partners such as Monetag, as well as our own direct ads. Advertising partners may collect information such as your device's advertising ID, IP address, device type and how you interact with ads, in order to show and measure ads. Where the law requires it (for example in the EEA and UK), we ask for your consent before personalised ads are shown. You can reset your advertising ID or opt out of personalised ads in your Android settings.

Song reports. If you report a song, we receive the song, the reason you chose, any note you write, and an email address only if you choose to give one. Report emails are deleted 180 days after the report is handled.

2. Information that stays on your device

Your saved songs, playlists, listening history, downloads, reading streak, settings and anything you write in the Prayer Room are stored only on your device. We never receive them. Uninstalling the app deletes them.

3. Content from CeeNaija.com

Song information, lyrics and images are loaded from ceenaija.com. When you open a download link, the website page opens inside the app, and the website's own privacy policy applies to that page.

4. How we use information

We use the information above to run and improve the app, fix crashes, send notifications you have allowed, protect the app and our servers from abuse, handle copyright and content reports, and show ads that keep the app free.

5. Sharing

We share information only with service providers that help us run the app: Google (Firebase Crashlytics, Cloud Messaging, App Check, Play Integrity and AdMob), our other advertising partners, and our hosting provider. Each processes information under its own privacy terms. We may also disclose information if required by law. We do not sell personal information.

6. How long we keep information

Anonymous statistics are kept as totals. Crash reports are kept for up to 90 days by Firebase. Report emails are deleted 180 days after the report is handled. Advertising partners keep data according to their own policies.

7. Your choices and rights

You can turn off notifications, limit personalised ads, or uninstall the app at any time. Depending on where you live, including under Nigeria's Data Protection Act and the EU/UK GDPR, you may have the right to access, correct or delete personal information we hold about you. To make a request, email us at the address below.

8. Children

The app is a general-audience app and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has given us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.

9. Security

We use encrypted connections (HTTPS) and limit access to our systems. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we work to protect your information.

10. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. We will change the "Last updated" date above, and for significant changes we may also notify you in the app.
